Over time, strong light will react with the silver particles and cause them to gradually lose their positive charge . Therefore, after making your solution, pour it into a brown or cobalt blue glass bottle or jar (photography supply stores) and store in a dark, cool place (do not refrigerate or freeze). If only plastic is available, you can use cleaned brown plastic bottles that 3% Hydrogen Peroxide is sold in. However, other types of plastic bottles should be avoided. Never store the colloidal silver in a metal container or use a metal pump mechanism. Label and date the bottles. Bob Beck recommends to always shake the container thoroughly before using. Merlins honey-drop colloid seems to degrade much slower than regular colloid in the presence of strong light. He once told me that he put a clear glass quart of golden colored, honey-drop colloid out in the full southern California desert sun for over two weeks straight and didnt get any change in color or fallout of silver whatsoever!
