Finally got around to watching UFO's, Then and Now: The Innocent Years that I taped off the History Channel a
week or two ago. One item really caught my attention: In support of ancient UFO sightings, it quoted Egyptian
scribes who described an incident in 1480 BC, during the reign of Tutmoses III. They said that "a circle of fire
appeared in the sky, and after some days became more numerous". It shone with the "brightness of the sun,
extending to limits of the sky". Now, this doesn't sound like a UFO (as in spacecraft) to me. It lasted several days,
getting bigger, was as bright as the sun, and covered the sky. Sounds more like a comet - a damn BIG comet!
And it's real close to the approximate date of 1500 BC for all those other events, like the Exodus, the eruption of
Santorini, and the crater in Australia. Hell, for all we know, what the Egyptians saw was the comet that made the
crater in Australia. It's actually a group of craters, which meant that something big broke up as it entered the
atmosphere. Like a smaller version of Shoemaker-Levy 9 hitting Jupiter.
